When you schedule any service for your home, you want to know that qualified providers are up for the task at hand. This holds true when you need home inspection services at your property. The International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (InterNACHI) offers training, certification, and other development opportunities for home inspectors around the globe, and there are several reasons why you should make sure your next home inspector is InterNACHI certified.

Why You Should Hire an InterNACHI Certified Home Inspector

  1. InterNACHI certified home inspectors have passed either the online or proctored Home Inspector Exam, validating their understanding of the tasks a home inspector needs to perform as well as the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the job. InterNACHI School is accredited by the U.S. Department of Education.
  1. InterNACHI certified home inspectors have also completed the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice courses, so you know your inspector will provide professional and comprehensive service in your home.
  1. Once an inspector has earned their InterNACHI certification, they have 12 months to complete further training in order to maintain their certificate. This coursework involves training in residential plumbing, deck inspections, moisture intrusion, structural issues for home inspectors, and much more.
  1. InterNACHI certification must also be maintained by continual membership in InterNACHI, the completion of continuing education courses, and passing the online inspector exam every three years.
